What Causes Intermittent Leg Pain Inspite Of Tylenol And Aleve Intake?

I have intermittent leg pain, knawing type pain, feels as though it s muscular, occurs laterally along the calf and laterally along the thigh...affects ability to walk....I have hx of herniated discs....surgery not an option...feel best when weight is down andI exercise. Back has also been acting up lately. This leg pain affects my sleep. I take 1300mg Tylenol with 2 Aleve but nothing relieves the feeling. Could this be a vascular problem in my legs or more related to my hx of discs (L4, 5, S 1) Thanks. Lynne

Hi,

Duplex USG is important for you as you already are less mobile to rule out severity for leg. Treatment accordingly will be given plus D dimer blood test. There is new surgery modalities like microdiscectomy will help. Consult other ortho specialist. You can ask a local clinician for Vicodin as it seems in your case it is needed but use under physician guidance as it can cause addiction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
