What Causes Intermittent Electrical Shock Sensations In The Ear?

Do you know anything about a sensation of an electric short circuit that happens in my ear that happens intermittently, usually triggered by a burp or brushing my teeth or some such thing. Something happens in my head, it seems, that triggers it. A cranial connection, perhaps?
