What Causes Intermittent Abdominal Cramps In A 10 Year Old?

I took my 10yo daughter to the emergency room with severe intermittent abdominal cramps. The CT scan showed nothing conclusive, the appendix wasn t even visible in the scan; the bloodwork and urine sample showed nothing unusual. Over the 5 hours we were there her cramps mostly waned, with two periods of more sever cramping; but she was giggling and cheerful albeit hungry when we departed. After arriving home, the cramps returned with severity for about an hour. Should I try to get another diagnosis or assume that this will, like most abdominal pain, just pass with her next bowel movement or after some sleep….?

Pediatrician 's  Response
It seems the problem is psychosomatic (not related to a physical illness), and a detailed and correct record of her pain, looking into her emotional development, and a gentle talk to her about any irritent will help to reach a final conclusion. An opinion by a child psychologist may be needed to solve it more effectively
