What Causes Intense Neck Pain Caused After An Injury?

I experienced neck trauma last year November. The pain is still extreme after almost a year and I can t sleep on my left side. It feels like something is dislodged and moving around. I ve had berium swallow, ultrasound and ct scan, but they couldn t determine what s wrong. It s not getting better, rather seems to be getting worse. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The neck pain after injury not diagnosed by USG, Ba swallow or CT scan can be due to spinal injury causing nerve compression in certain position. If I were to treat such PPA patient.

I would get CT scan of cervical spine to find exact cause .Treatment would be pain medicine, physiotherapy or surgery in few cases. As per need. Please consult an orthopedic surgeon for specific advise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
