What Causes Insomnia?

Dr. Thank you for your help. I m having trouble sleeping the last several nights--This has only begun recently- I turned eighty years old in June and have excellent medical help. My Dr has a personal issue and has rescheduled my appointment for 2 weeks hence. I used melatonin in past times occasionally as I trveled doing my work. I m now retired and haven t used it or anything else for sleep ever. I have controlled BP and am on 1 a day regular 325 mg Aspirin therapy. I take Losartan , amlodopine and furosemide and Thyroxin . I wondered about possible interaction with melatonin. What do you think-- am I in danger if I use the melatonin to help me fall asleep? Of course I will discuss this with my Primary care MD when He returns. YYYY@YYYY
