What Causes Insomnia After Treating Hysterectomy?

my girlfriend just had an hysterectomy has been taking black cohosh and estervan to help with possible menaposal side affects. but she is complaining of not being able to sleep more then 2 to 3 hrs a night. would any of the meds have anything to do with the insomnia that she is having?
