What Causes Ingrown Hair On Ear And Swelling On One Side Of Face?

My husband has an ingrown hair on the ear closet to the face. It has swelled so much that his earhole is almost closed and the side of his face is swelled also. We got a little bit of greenish-white pus to come out but it hurts to bad to mash it. What can he do and does he need antibiotics?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
He might have developed furuncles.
These are deep bacterial infections.
Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
