What Causes Inflammation Of Throat Along With Headaches And Heaviness In Chest?

I ve had a persistent cough for about a month now. I am asthmatic. Today I have a bit of a burning sensation in my throat with a soreness & a little bit of white on the left tonsil, a sore under the back side of my tongue, headache & I have a heavyness on my chest. What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Persistent coughing can be due to: (1) post nasal drip- this is most common cause
Post nasal drip is due sinusitis which can also cause headaches. Post nasal drip can cause sore throat.

(2) GERD
(3)asthma

It is possible to have more than one cause of the cough eg both GERD and post nasal drip

Using a topical steroid spray along with a decongestant/anti histamine combination would help.
Eg of topical steroid sprays- nasonex, nasocort, flonase

I hope this helps
