What Causes Inflammation In The Feet?

On three different occasions, in the last few weeks, my feet were noticed to be so very red. There was no pain or swelling and I had not been standing/walking but a few minutes. Once I was wearing flat sandles, the other two times, flip flops. I had complete hysterectomy 5 months ago and not sure if this is a problem that needs attention. So many changes ... I ve been taking 1 mg Estrogen tablets for the last 2 weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Inflammation in the feet is commonly due to allergy due to an insect bite, overweight, RA(autoimmune inflammatory disease), injury to the tendons or ligaments, thyroid dysfunction, sprain/stress/strain or Peripheral Neuropathy.

Visit the ER, get physically examined. If it an insect bite or allergy you can take non-sedating antihistamines.

Apply calamine lotion locally, get tests for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Thyroid function tests & tests for Peripheral Neuropathy done to rule out any pathology. Get treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
