What Causes Inflammation And Soreness On The Site Of Injection?

Hi
I injected steroids into my upper arm as usual. Although after this injection the site has become inflammed and sore to move and touch. I have tried massaging the area myself and using heat packs and nurofen. None of these seem to be working to solve the problem. What could this lump be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The lump might be because you might have shot any blood vessel or because you injected medication too fast and not deep.

You can massage with an alcohol pad and apply cold compresses for the first days.

All the best!
