What Causes Inflamed Hemorrhoids While On Augmentin And Prednisone?

I have been recently diagnosed with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia. I have taken augmentin and continue to take 60 mg prednisone daily. I am having numerous soft mushy type stools a day and leakage which has inflamed hemorrhoids and a very raw anal area. Could this be from any of this medicine. I stopped augmentation Wednesday 12th.

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The piles & loose bowel with inflammed haemorrhides could be constipation/diarrhea following antibiotics with depletion of normal intestinal flora.... which can be prevented by suplimenting with lactobacillus preparation.... antibiotic is usually not withdrawn before desired course is completed (unless adviced)
Antibiotic ,anti inflammatory medicines with schtiz bath &local rectal ointment like pilex ..? to reduce pain &inflammation...as advisex by your treating doctor.
Treating contiption or diarrhea /stool soothers are important part of manavement.
Pl. Consult your treatinv doctor/anorectal surgeon.
