What Causes Infections In The Knuckles While On Levothyroxine?

today I started to take Levothyroxine, 75 mcg, made by Sando as a generic equivalent to Synthroid. This evening I noticed that I have infections in the knuckles of my fingers. I have taken Levothyroxine, 75 mcg, made by MYLAN for many years without any such side effects. Could this be due to switching the manufacturer?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the infection in the knuckles is not related to intake of levothyroxine, it is a separate entity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
