What Causes Infection In The Big Toe?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can

This may be an ingrown nail which is most common cause of toe inflammation. In early stages you can have warm salty baths for your toe and cut your nails precisely and apply Betrion steroid cream. In severe cases antibiotics are required and sometimes even surgical drainage and removal of part of the nail. Other causes are fungal infections or gout and you need to take ibuprofen 400mg in every case and consider antibiotics if there is no improvement on steroid cream and baths. In every case this is not something serious and many people had it and treated successfully.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
