What Causes Infection In Blood After Chemo For Lung Cancer?

My day 76 yrs died last week due to lung cancer and in the death summary it was mentioned as advanced carcinoma lung with septicema. 2 cycles of chemo was also done. Just wanted to konw how did the blood infection happen. He was very normal , fit and fine till the last days.

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. He had lung cancer and taken chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy causes decrease in blood count. It is immuno suppression drug. It lrads to decrease in the immunity and person is prone to infection. So it can leads to septicaemia. It is very common side effect of chemotherapy.
