What Causes Indentation Of The Left Hip?

I noticed an indention in my skin on my left hip. It feels as if there is nothing under the top layer of skin and the skin looks like a burn scar. I think it may have widened since I first noticed it. There is no pain or tenderness or swelling. What might this be and should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows regarding your indentation over left hip.

It could be due to muscle atrophy or it could be muscle pain following indentation or depression in hip muscle.

Do you have any history of injury?

Also,i will hope there is no ulcer but I will need to see that area to comment exactly what the skin is and how looks.

You should see surgeon who will examine it and start treatment.

Meanwhile, take pain killers if there is pain otherwise no need to worry.

Hope it helps.

Regards,
