What Causes Increasing Unbearable Pain In The Shoulder At Night Postpartum?

I had a c section on oct 7. I m discharged from hospital on oct 10. At night when I was feeding the kid, I felt sharp pain on upper left arm and it increases when I try to lay down. I have left shoulder pain too. The pain is unbearable at night and when I try to lay down. X ray report is okay and there is no fracture. Currently doc prescribed me Mobizox and Pregabid NT. The pain supressed once I took medicine but again active once medicine effect gone. Please suggest whom to consult. I m a lactating mother.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is necessary to perform a cervical and thoracic spine MRI in order to exclude a possible disc herniation in the vertebral column. In the meantime, I recommend taking ibuprofen, which is safe during lactation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
