What Causes Increase Rate Rate?

I'm a healthy 24 year old female. I exercise and eat well and I am not under weight or overweight. Lately I started noticing that at times , out of no where my heart starts beating fast +120 BPM, along with this i often get sweaty hands and feet, and I can feel my heart pounding very hard in my chest. It can last anywhere from 10 min to 30+. Most of the time it just goes away, suddenly. Like it didn't even happen. Also, on another note, I have a strong pulse in my stomach, this happens all the time. I had it checked out, and the doctor said it's nothing. However, I did not have my heart rate checked out. What could this be? Is this dangerous? I have chronic sinuses as well, infections come and go when they please, but nothing a few painkillers and Catflam won't fix. Could this be related? I feel like my heart palpitations are happening more and more frequently.

Hello and thank you for using HCM. I carefully read your question and I totally understand your concern. Don't worry, this is not something serious.
People can experience heart palpitations for different reasons. As you explain,I think we are dealing with a rhythm issue. It might be a sinus tachycardia. This means that your heart is beating over 100 beat for minute. Its normal rate in resting conditions should be between 60-100 beat for minute. Sinus tachycardia might happen for different reasons from simple emotional stress to different pathology's like anemia, hyperthyroidism ect. You explain some other symptoms like sweaty hand with your tachycardia. This might be a sign of hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism might cause tachycardia, anxiety, sweetness.
Your chronic sinusitis thought different mechanism might cause tachycardia. In general a chronic infection in organisms means a battle against a microorganism, means more energy for the body, much more work for the heart to fulfill body necessities that lead to tachycardia. The chronic infections might lead to anemia, that leads to tachycardia.
But if you have a sudden, abrupt rise of your frequency it might be another problem like supraventricular tachycardia, a kind of arrhythmia, that might have the same causes that i mention before.
So if i was your treating doctor i will recommend you some examinations like a blood analyses, an electrocardiogram, your thyroid hormones and an electrocardiography and hoter monitoring to see what are this palpitations. Knowing what kind are this palpitations helps to thing for treating them. It might be nothing, just an emotional problem that come and goes.
Hope I was helpful. Best regards.
