What Causes Increase In Weight Having Low Appetite?

Hi I have multable long term health problems,including diabeties,hypothoriodism,rhematoid arthritis ,pysoritic arthritus ect.I take many drugs 30 plus daily including insulin and methotrexate beta blockers ace inhibitors ect because of my arthritus ect I am not very mobile I am a 63 year old female,5ft 1nch tall,my weight has stayed between 17 to 18 stone for over 10years,and as I am also a ceiliac I have a very retricted diet people I know tell me I eat little as I do in fact if it was not for having to take insulin I would be perfectly happy to not eat untill I feel hungrey enough to eat as I am very rarly hungrey,and when I do eat over half my food is regulary left on my plate ,so why am I fat is it my drugs i take? regards Valerie uk

Thanks for using HCM.
There may be many causes for you gaining weight, as with multiple problems you are taking multiple drugs as well.
Insulin it self may be major cause of weight gain.It increases up take of glucose by cells, and if not consumed, stored in form of fat.Over a period of time it manifests as weight gain.
You can avoid this by burning calories in what ever way it is possible.
You can use a trainer and a dietitian, they both can look after your diet and physical training,which in turn will help you in arthritis as well.
