What Causes Increase In The Blood Sugar Level?

blood sugar was 170 when I got up this morning. I ate 2 beef sticks and cheese which was only a couple carbs. Ate another beef stick around 11:00 and have drank 4 cpus of coffee with powdered cream. Just got a reading of 231. I am 5 11 and weight 185 and run/walk regularly - 8.5 miles yesterday. Spent 4 hours outside washing the deck so was active this morning. Why would the level go up 60+ from am to this afternoon?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir I can understand your concern
I am very happy to see that you are doing a regular exersise which is very important for well controlled diabetes
you didn't mention any thing about your medication
As a natural phenomenon in diabetes the efficacy of tablets tend to decrease with the duration of diabetes
I suggest you to maintain your BMI around 25 for a better control
kindly mention about your medication and post your question again
Regards
