What Causes Hypoglycemia Few Hours After Taking Meals While On Insulin?

i am having diabetes type 2, since 20 years. now on insulin- 14,14,14, short acting insulin and single 18 units long acting insulin. Hb1AC is 7.2, post lunch sugar-300.,post dinner-160, but getting hypoglycemia 4-5 hours after meals-44 to 70 mg,sugar level. iam tobacco chewer-not smoker, i am having retinopathy , age 59 yrs.what is the reason for hypoglycemia? i am medical doctor. pl. opine. thanks

Sir, The low blood sugar values after meals indicate that the the insulin you are taking is of higher dose before that meals.

What you need to do is a slight reduction in the dose of insulin you are taking. You can discuss with your treating doctor regarding this.
