What Causes Hypo Pigmentation On The Scrotum?

Hi, I have this small hypo pigmented areas (I m very dark-skinned and they are noticeably white) on my scrotum and recently noticed one small area on the shaft of my penus on the bottom. they don t seem to bother me. They only recently appeared maybe within the last 6 months but i m not sure of the exact time as they are hidden from view. currently there are three such patches, very small (maybe 1X1 cm). I think they only came on after I used some over the counter solution for ingrown hair which caused an area of depigmentation on my jaw/cheek (the facial hair in the area became white). any ideas or possible correlation between that area on my jaw and the depigmentation on my scrotum and penile shaft? Could it be vitiligo and if so what can i do for it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Though less common, it can be part of vitiligo if there is no history of the application of any irritant or lotion over the scrotum.
* Another possibility can be developing sebaceous cyst or so forth.
* Must consult your expert dermatologist for detailed examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
