Recently I looked at my vaginal area and was surprised to see a dark line on my upper thighs/ bikini line area. I don t know what it is. My thighs do rub together. Certain underwear do irritate this spot. Otherwise I don t feel anything. I am insulin resistant and have pcos. Is it ancanthosis nigrician? Is it dry skin? Is it raw skin from my thighs rubbing together? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Hi,

I think most probably you may be having acanthosis nigricans. Still, you consult dermatologist to have firm diagnosis.

You said you have insulin resistant DM and PCOS. Acanthosis nigricans may be associated feature. Thighs are big, means you may be obese. And obesity is commonly associated with acanthosis nigricans.

You take proper treatment for your medical and gynaec conditions. Weight reduction may be needed to reduce obesity.

Apply keratolytic oint like salicylic acid containing oint. Vitamin E and alovera containing cream maight be helpful.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
