General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, he needs to be evaluated by a neurosurgeon and may need to get CT or MRI of lumbar spine to rule out any connection of spinal space to the swelling as it may need urgent surgical repair.

However, if not so, local cystic inflammation may be present which may need biopsy and oral antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
