What Causes Hot Flushes On Arms And Neck While On Niacin?

hello, recently i got really hot and flush on my arms neck and other small parts of my body. I do take niacin for cholesterol, but the funny thing is, i took it at 8:30am and it is now 7:00pm and i just had this reaction. is this due to the niacin having a late reaction?

Hello,
I can understand your concern.
Niacin is an effective medication used for lowering cholesterol.
Niacin has some common sideeffects like flushing,itch,redness,rash like symptoms among other sideeffects.
I would suggest you to take extended release form of the tablet niacin to lower the incidence of the side effects.
This would significantly reduce the sideeffects you have been facing. If you still face such problems alternate drugs can be prescribed.
I would suggest you to use extended release tablet and get back to us with the results.
