What Causes Hot Flashes And Profuse Sweating After Physical Exertion?

I am 60 year old female. I had a hysterectomy a year ago for cervical cancer, stage 1. For several months I have been experiencing hot flashes (although I thought I went through menopause years ago) and profuse sweating over the slightest exertion. It interferes with day to day living because I am always drenched in sweat. Now I get waves of nausea that comes and goes. I take thyroid med and have for at least a decade. I even tried not taking the med and I still sweat. I didnt have this problem before. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The hot flashes and profuse sweating after physical exertion and history of hysterectomy indicate underlying hormone disturbances of estrogen most likely.

Status of ovary removal and current hormone status of estrogen are two most important predictors of the issue intensity and further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
