Hello,

Leuprolide is known to cause hot flushes as a side effect. So, be rest assured that it is not something unknown that you are facing. This is seen in nearly 70% of the patients on GnRH analogues (one of which is Leuprolide). Most often than not it disappears within a few months to a year. But only in some rare instance it can persist for longer periods too. Unfortunately it is not predictable.

If this is debilitating you, you can always get treated for this with drugs. There are hormonal (like Megesterol, Medroxyprogesterone) and non-hormonal agents (Clonidine, Gabapentin) described to treat the hot flushes if its is significantly disturbing you.

Before embarking upon such treatment it is advisable to meet your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
