General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Having a horrible taste in mouth especially after eating is related to:
- reflux (although you are saying to get it under control). I advise to be careful with foods/drinks you take and take medications as prescribed by your doctor.

I think you should increase the dose and/or take antacid (if you are not taking any).

Take extra pillow when sleeping to increase your head. Do not lay down immediately after eating.

- perhaps you might have started taking a new medication that might have caused the symptoms you are currently experiencing.

- viral/candida infection of the mouth/throat can also cause this horrible taste

- liver problems might be other possible cause. You can check your liver function for further evaluation

All the best!
