What Causes Hives And Joint Pain?

My mother has a form of Lupus. I have have been getting extreme hives and joint pain for over a year. Based on only a blood test I was told I do not have Lupus but it is my understanding that there are several tests that should be done to rule out Lupus. What are some of the other tests?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Usually though there are many tests but some are used to confirm diagnosis, some are used to rule out diagnosis and some are used to see disease progress and prognosis. For reassurance ANA and antiDsDNA combined can be used to rule out the Lupus. Rheumatologist review can be sought for further work up.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
