What Causes Hip Inflammation?

I am a 60 year old female and two days ago when I stood from a sitting position, my right hip became stuck. I was taken to an E.R. where a doctor said he felt inflammation may have caused this, and tissue folded over part of my hip joint ball. He heavily medicated me, and manipulated my hip. This was very painful, Suddenly I could straighten out my right leg, and just set up and started walking as if nothing ever happened. This happened 14 years ago. What should I do?
