What Causes High Temperature Of Neck And Hands And Rash In Hands And Back?

My son is two years old. His head, neck and hands feel really hot but according to the thermometers (I used different ones to make sure it wasn t caused by a faulty reading) he does not have a fever. Additionally he has a rash on his hands, both the backs and the palms and he often complains of stomach aches. What can be causing all this?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi

Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns. Children often show mild increase in temperature of head end of the body without actual fever spikes. This happens due to poor regulation by temperature control centres in brain I.e. Hypothalamus. Don't worry as it improves on its own by 5 years of age.

As far as the rash is concerned, I will be able to guide you in a better way if you post me his photographs as direct query.

Hopefully this will help you. I will be happy to help you out in any child related questions.

Take care
