What Causes High Pulse Rate Of 103?

my blood pressure is 125/76 and my pulse is 103, which is normally 75. I took a Musinex D this morning to see if it would help a flim coughing problem I was having all night. The mucus seems to be better, but I m still a little light headed and took my blood pressure. That is when I saw the pulse was high. I don t take any med except Levothroxin (many years-had a portion of throid removed) and Flo Vein, which I ve been taking for 15 days to see if it would help my lymphdema. Just wondering about the pulse.

Hi,

High pulse rate that is more than 100 beats per minutes, can be caused by Levothyroxine, which you are taking after thyroid surgery. But it seems like this high pulse rate is because of anxiety, and it's very mild. So it's not something to worry about or any change in medication, although I would suggest to monitor it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah
