What Causes High Fever In Child Even After Having Meftal P?
hi, my daugther (aged 2 yrs and 11 months, weighing about 12 kgs) has high running fever (temperature going upto 104.6 degrees) since last 2 days. Doctor prescribed Ibugesic plus (7 ml) after every 6 hrs. We have been giving the same. But after every 4 hrs the temperature shoots up. Today, we got her blood and urine tested. It was normal but haemoglobin was marginal. Then doctor prescribed 3.5 ml of meftal P in duration of every 8 hours. After giving that too, after 5 hours the temperature is crossing 104.6 degrees. The child is still playful. We have been spunging the child for last 2 hrs. Any reason for the fever to stay at 104.6?

Many times viral fever takes time (4 to 5 days )to subside.
Tepid water sponging regularly when ever body heats up.
Increase the dose of meftal p to around 6 to 7 ml will help.
Anritpyretics usually have effect up to only 4 hour, so they can be repeated 4 hourly if required.
