Hi my six year old daughter had her appendix out a week and half ago. when she had open surgery to remove the appendix they noticed she had a burst appendix, she was on loads of antibiotics then sent home from hospital, as she was so much better, with oral antibiotics she then got thrush in mouth and vagina. she finished the course of antibiotics and seemed alot better then the day after her course of meds finished she got worce more pain high temp took her back to docs to which they have put her back on the antibiotics. Now I have noticed vaginal discharge is this normal or should I be concerned. Many thanks
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend, -Vaginal ointment containing clotrimazole local application for 3-5 days. -Oral Probiotics for growth of normal intestinal bacilli. -Tab.Paracetamol 250 mg thrice for 3 days. -Maintain genital hygiene witb soap and water.
If no improvement after 3 days, visit to gynaecologist will be necessary.Vaginsl didcharge microscopy and culture to diagnose the causative orhanism. Accordingly, oral antibiotics or anti fungals should be given for 7 days.
Hope this information helps. Wish your daughter speedy recovery.
