What Causes High Fever And Headache Despite Taking Advil?

My wife is running a fever in excess of 101 with an accompanying nasty headache. She has taken 6 Advil since this morning with the last dose at 4:15 PM and the fever is still running quite high now at 8:40 PM. Can she take Alleve now to try to reduce this fever or is there some other method we might try ? bcrom230

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest to drink plenty of fluids, make a bath and wear light clothes. Also, I suggest to do a blood count and urine test. Maybe she needs antibiotics and you should go to doctor to make a physical examination because I need to know more about her symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
