My 10 year old grand son has been running an fever 102 for the last 4 days. I have been giving him motrin for his fever, he has a cough. I took him to the Doctor today and she stated he has a virus and keep giving him mortin or another brand for fever and he should drink plenty of liquids. She checked his throat , ears and throat , and breathing and stated everything was find. I am just concerned about why he continue to have a fever.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your grandson have symptoms of high fever and cough which seems to be due to poor immunity and upper respiratory tract infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should go for blood and throat swab tests for confirmation of diagnosis and start treatment accordingly. Chew vitamin C pellet daily. Take antibiotic along with cough expectorant and drink plenty of water. You should take NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen for 3-5 days. Avoid excessive oily food and cold beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
