General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Kindly mention any other complaints if present like vomiting, abdominal pain, anorexia etcetera.

You may have a temporary viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. Symptomatic management is done for that condition.

Now, if you do not have other complaints, then no need for further workup. If still symptomatic, then Auscultation, Physical examination, and CBC needed.

For dry cough Dextromethorphan drug containing syrup can be prescribed. Consult the physician for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
