I have had a daily fever for 4 years and feel like a furnace is on inside me. Today my fever was 101 at the doctor s office. I have sores (been told they are aphthous ulcers), particularly one that rarely subsides, on the left upper side of the palate of my mouth. I have unbearable pain and ringing in my left ear, at the lower jawline right by the ear, and my left eye will twitch. My eye stays blood shot red, and I ve had 4 amniotic membrane grafts in the last year in an effort to help after 5 failed eye surgeries (adverse reaction to lasik). My hearing is muffled and sometimes the pain radiates down my neck and shoulder. I feel like the start of strep throat constantly, which the doctors have said to continue to treat as a cold daily (NyQuil). I have seen over 10 doctors (literally) and all have told me to keep taking Prednisone and Ibuprofen daily. After 4 years, my Endocrinologist (who treats my Hashimoto s) has now said I show positive on 2 of 3 tests for Cushing Syndrome because of the high doses of steroids. For now, he says we will deal with that later. My cortisol levels remain high at all times, about 18 mcg/dL at the low point (even with Dexamethasone suppression), which I am also told we will deal with later since there is not an explainable cause. I have had my wisdom teeth removed, seen 6 dentists, and all agree that my teeth and gums are perfectly flawless. Neurologist has done CT scan to check my adrenal glands and they look normal. I have been treated by a hematologist for chronically low iron levels which have been fixed with iron infusions. However, not one doctor has had an answer. I have been dismissed by more than one doctor telling me that I am just too interesting . Looking for any help. The next doctor they are referring me to is an Infectious Disease doctor.
