What Causes High Fever Along With Cold In A Child?

My son is suffering from fever for the past four days. Initially he had running nose. We gave him maxtra-p worked well for running nose. Later on high fever caught him ranging 105.4-104.5 degree foreign heat. We gave him clavam 4ml and meftalgesic-p 5ml daily three times for 3 days. 3rd onwards the fever is ranging from 100.1-100.4. Boy is actively playing, but fever has not come down completely. We did tests for Widal, CUE, smear for malarial parasite everything is normal. Shall we wait for another 2 days or shall we go for platelet count test? please suggest us.

Hi...Can understand your concern...As per your query about fever and cold in a child..is viral fever which normally takes 7-10 days to completely get off the symptoms ..Since his tests are normal and you are feeling he is better then you can wait for 2 more days and continue the medicine for 2 more days and keep him well hydrated by giving warm water and fluids .. but in case you see that fever is high you should consult a pediatrician fo a proper examination..I hope the information helps you..Take care.
