What Causes High Eosinophil Count, Swelling In Mouth And Throat In Child

Hi, my son has a high eosinophil blood count, about triple the normal range (14). He has become more and more reactive to foods to where he can only tolerate rice and cooked blueberries and raspberries. Meats and vegetables and fruit all cause swelling to the mouth and throat. He even has allergic reactions to water (deep well water, city water and bottled water) unless I Reverse Osmosis AND boil it. He does not have parasites, fungal infections (maybe something in his lungs?) but has recently started having heart pain when he eats. I have tried since he was 2 years old to protect him from allergic reactions, he was diagnosed with Eosinophilia when he was five and now he is seven. What can I do for him to make him less allergic???? My last thought is maybe he is allergic to pine trees. We live where there are a lot of pine trees. Is there a test for that?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

High eosinophyl count is an indicator of an allergy.
I suggest giving your child antihistamines such as Cetirizine.
I also suggest to do the allergic tests for further evaluation.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
