General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Diabetes is a lifestyle ignorance disease. It is also predisposed by genetic or family background. High levels of blood sugar leads to increased cholesterol which get deposited in the walls of the blood vessels causing narrowing & hardening of the vessels. This in turn leads to more pressure of blood on the walls of the blood vessels due to which blood pressure is raised. Please don't worry, this can be managed by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
