What Causes Hematuria?

My mom had a pain when she urinated and a small amount of blood and urinating was painful, she went for an ultrasound and they said she had fluid in the abdomen and a spot in her left kidney what could this be? They told her they are going to send her for a catsacn

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Loin pain, hematuria and renal mass usually points towards a diagnosis of possible renal cell cancer. However, it could be a infection too. Unless further investigations are done, difficult to rule out anything.
2. CT scan will help in identifying the size of the mass and if its possibly benign or malignant. Any surrounding areas involved can also be seen.
3. A guided needle biopsy may be done for confirmation of type of lesion and further treatment is based on the type of lesion identified.
