What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Plan-B?
Hi, I took plan B and 8 days later I thought I started my period. It was two days of heavy dark, bleeding. It stopped for two days and then the dark blood started appearing again when I urinated. I had intercourse with my husband two days after that and the dark blood clots started appearing. It s been 3 days since intercourse and I am still experiencing the dark blood clots only when I go to the restroom. Please advise if this is a normal side effect of plan B? When can I expect the bleeding to stop?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. The first time you had bleeding, You must have breakthrough bleeding due to intake of a plan b pill. This type of bleeding occur normally with in 3 weeks of the pill intake. This is normal feature of pill & there is nothing to be worried about Now you must have your periods came. This bleeding would last for 4-7 days in total. A plan B pill has also tendency to cause irregular periods. Use condom or regular contraceptive pill as method of conception in future. Taking more emergency contraceptive pills can cause problems like irregular periods, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & even infertility.
If problem persists consult a gynaecologist Hope this information helps
