What Causes Heavy Periods, Nausea And Stomach Sickness After Taking Plan-B?

Had unprotected sex on my period and took plan B within 18 hours. About four days later I experienced heavy bleeding merely days later, it was like a second period it lasted so long... Now it has been a full week since I took the plan b and I am sick to my stomach. Very, very nauseous all the time. Are the side effects supposed to be felt this long after my dose of plan B? Very nervous and hoping I m not pregnant.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What you have done is the right thing of taking Plan B within 18 hours of unprotected intercourse. In 4 days you say tyat you got your periods. Once you get this periods, which is caused as withdrawal bleeding due to drug, it says that you are not pregnant.
The symptoms what you are complaining of like nausea and stomach sickness is mainly due to side effects of the drug.
You don't have to worry much as these symptoms will subside gradually and you would feel better soon. You just need to take symptomatic treatment for these.
Hope the information provided is clear.
All the best.
