What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding?

So My menstrual cycles are exessively heavy, going thru a super tampon and pad within 2 hours for 3 - 4 days.... my concern is (I know Im being paranoid) but up until 2 years ago my office had a bunch of asbestos in the subfloor which kept coming thru the linoleum. It was finally removed upon determining what it was.. Can this affect a female menstrual cycle? Now my assistant is having same symptoms. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are suffering from Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB). Get abdomen ultrasound done to confirm diagnosis.

Your problem has little to do with asbestosis. Anyway, you were not inhaling or eating asbestos because asbestosis is caused due to inhaled asbestos leading to lung problem

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
