What Causes Heavy Brown Vaginal Discharge While On Implanon?
I am on the birth control implanon for close to two years now, having a normal for me (fairly light 5 day) period every six months or so. I started discharging brown blood and clots on the 13th of February, then on the 17th it turned into a very heavy, normal red, period. It continued until the 6th of March and stopped. Today on the 8th, I am discharging brown again. My regular doctor told me to call a gyno but as I don t have one as a new patient it is taking me until May to get in. What is happening and should I go to the ER or an Urgent Care clinic to get checked out????

thanks for the query.I understand your concern
Implanon is a hormonal implnt for contraception.
It is known to cause irregular bleedings provided the implanon is intact...I don't see any thing to be concerned about. such type of changed bleeding patterns are seen with Implanon.

ut if you observe some displacement /breakage of tje device.. you need to change it if advized so by a gynecologist/doctor in ER.
