General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
In pneumonia it takes some time to resolve patch so problem of having heaviness and cough is common phenomena due to irritation and swelling of pulmonary bronchioles and lung membrane.
Remain in regular follow ups with your pulmonologist as you are diabetic so infection might not come under control in time and might aggravated.
Do regular deep breathing exercises.
Ok and take care.
