What Causes Heart Palpitations?

Hi! I have had heart palpitations for years. However, they have gotten very pronounced in the last year. I have been doing better lately, but today I lifted and carried a semi-heavy laundry basket and have been having bad heart palpitations ever since. Resting helps some but I am afraid to move too much. Should I be concerned if lifting objects does this to me? It has happened before and my heart feels like it can't beat!

Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears to be due to anemia,or come conduction defects of the heart.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have E.C.G, and other tests for confirmation.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to have blood, general health and resistance against infections.
Palpitation feeling may be due to the gastric irritation. so Avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods. Also avoid untimely foods.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.

Cardiologist, Interventional Dr. Anupam Jena's  Response
hi
I have read the provided medical history and I will explain you a few things. from your history it appears that the palpitations are precipitated by exertion and better at rest.
-such symptoms can occur sometimes due to leakage in valves or abnormal shunting of blood
-what is your age?
-an echocardiography can clarify issues for us
-palpitations not related to exertion can be due to some abnormality of heart rhythm
-heightened anxiety states can produce palpitation but are usually not related to exertion
thank you
