What Causes Heart Palpitations After Ingestion?

After I eat, my heart beats extra hard (or feels that way). I ve gone to the ER when it is real bad. My enzymes are normal, my pulse is normal, blood pressure within normal limits, EKG normal. So what IS this. I m not panicked, no more stress than normal. It just seems to happen at night when I eat. Is this my stomach reacting?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your your history of extra hard heart beats on eating only, particularly at night, visits ER, enzymes, pulse, blood pressure and EKG are normal.
The most probable causes are:
When anyone takes a stomach-full meal, the more part of the circulating blood goes to the gastrointestinal system.
This way the heart has to compensate for the reduced blood supply which is physiological and hence the extra pressure it has to exert is felt by you.
I would suggest a simple diagnostic as well as therapeutic thing you can do easily.
Distribute your daily requirement of food into 4 equal parts and take as breakfast, lunch, brunch in the evening and dinner with equal spacing,. Now since there will be a less load, there will be reduced burden on the heart and you may get rid of the problems you are facing.
