My husband has recently lost a majority of hearing in one ear Hello. My husband told me that about 2 months ago he lost a majority of his hearing in his left ear ( I believe). I told him he didn't want to go to the doctor because he didn't think it was anything major. What could this possibly be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your husband have haering loss in let year which could be due to many reasons but it seems to me that the symptoms occur probably due to punctured ear drum, accumulation of wax and severe infection in your ear. It could be sensorineural hearing loss and acoustic neuroma condition. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like CT scan and examine ear with otoscope. You should avoid touching and pricking it with sharp object. Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics at least or 10 days along with anti inflammatory , anti allergic and analgesic . Doctor may also recommend you patching of ear drum , tympanoplasty or hearing aid .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
