What Causes Headache While On Contraceptive Implant?

I have a mesh implant which is no longer effective and has created urinary tract infections and pelvic pain. I also have migrane headachs and nausea. Are these related. Can I have the implant removed. It was implanted in 07, it worked for one and one half years. Then it is like someone turned the faucet off.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It has been long since you are on contraceptive mesh implant. Since you are experiencing side effects & have discomforts with it, you may get it removed.

You are suggested to visit a gynecologist, first get physically examined. Your gynecologist will help you decide which contraceptive device will suit you better. Discuss with her your preferences & your past illness if any. Inform her about the medications you have been taking.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
